I just recently went through the same thing and have landed a nice job after 3+ months of intense searching.  I can give you a good lead on what military specific stuff is out there and maybe some job-hunting strategies.  You should definitely take advantage of everything your Family Support Center has to offer.  Mine had some excellent classes in interviews, resume writing, govt civilian jobs, etc.  Hopefully your center will have resources of equal quality.

Give me a call some time and we can discuss.  (478) 335-2799

Hi Greg,

I made the big transition last year, and what saved me was having a plan.   How long do you have left?   Chris Burch gave some good advice about using the family resource center.  I took the class on resume writing and interviewing-I think it was some sort of career transition course.  (not sure of the exact title)  It fills up fast, if it is offered so inquire soon.  Also, this course is taught from the perspective of the person that would hire you.   They taught you what you needed to do to make the best impression on that piece of paper.   What are your other thoughts on leaving, do you have other pursuits that you are thinking of?
I am always available for advice too. Smile

I am there with you Greg.  I was just job searching when I stopped to check the board.  I already have some options but it's not just being handed to me which is what I kind of expected.  I really have been very agressive and friendly.  I ask everyone for leads and talk to all the right people in the area.  Good for you, you don't have a little one on the way so they aren't judging based on whether they have to pay you for maternity leave.  Do you already have a couple different resumes?

Greg,

The GREATEST sight in the world today was seeing that Tops In Blue shirt running down the road.  That short chat and that chance to hug your neck was the highlight of my day!

Love you brother and BEST of blessings to you (you don't need luck... you've got things lined up)!

Lo
