OK, I want to see the TIB Divas do Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man" this year. I can just imagine Erin tearing up the vocals. And with a kickin' TIB horn section? Puh-leez! Bring it! Anyone else agree? _________________ Kube est bonus.

I must say that hearing Erin sing again would be my motivation to warm up my vocals. Sadly, I haven't been singing much since tour... aside from lullaby's to Kay every night:)
It's funny how being a Mom changes EVERYTHING! I'm loving it! |

After talking to Libby I've also got some ideas for the fellas this year. So, calling J-Rome and Eddie B.....we need to bring back "The Blue Tops".
Don't get me wrong, the "old men" did well a couple years back, but need to show 'em what us "kids" can do and also that they've taught us well.
Maybe Libby can help me sell it to the boss. J-Rome sorry I haven't called you back yet, but I'll be hittin' you up soon. Eddie B, where ya at?

Sorry Manfred...you have to ask the guy at FOH if you can mix it...odds are he'll say NOT! I helped the Diva's blow it up last year....and will again. _________________ K-Dub

Hey Jai...I'm glad that you want to throw down the challenge against the 'old guys'....but I'm an 'old gal' and proud of it. So don't think that my support is choosing sides cause to me it ain't a choice.
I'm sure that you boys can do a great job, but remember...without those 'old guys' you wouldn't be here! And I can't 'sell' anything to Chief. You just have to show him it can be done. Plus after what the DIVAS did last year...I got to give it to the Ladies. You guys are brave. _________________ Libby Castle

Manfred,
I'll bet if enough of us Techs bum-rushed FOH, we could stage a technical coup and get to mix the '07 Divas.'

I know I'm like the last person on earth to see this post. I wanna throw my $.02 (that's slick Jai) in and represent the "old men" which I think was the term used. Thanks for reppin' the old school Libby. Way to represent!! LOL! I did hear that the ladies ripped it up last year and hopefully, this time, I'll get to see them live and in the flesh. Keep doin' yo thang ladies, cause I understand you do's it well! LOL! Love y'all. Hope to see y'all soon. Hopefully we can have Worldwide One, not the Blue Tips or Temps or whatever the heck Walt called us together during worldwide. Love ya! I'm out like those bustas on Flava of Love 2. Earl Poon from out of no where! I guess I'll have to start bringing my own generator to FOH. And make sure that there are no returns on the snake at video world. I'm going to really have to watch my back with you guys. Take care, and I'll see you in Nov! _________________ K-Dub

I'm gonna take Earl's idea a step farther. You guys have seen 'Die Hard:2' right? We bring in our own snake and FOH/lighting rig. We cut the power and snake going to FOH and splice our own system in. Then we threaten to blind somebody with an intellibeam if anybody interferes. Once the 'Diva Set' is over, we fill the place with fog, return control and sneak away into the night.
Not that I've thought anything about this in my spare time

Ladies and gentlemen, Earl Poon!!
So, Dodd and Earl, I like the way you two think, but let me take it to the next level if I may.
When we splice into the FOH snake, we need to make sure we route a few channels to the output of a tape deck (I'm using tape instead of CD to make sure everyone knows how it works, not that I think you guys are old or anything), so Kevin thinks he's still at the active FOH mixing the show...
Kevin being as old as he is, is probably going senile and won't know the difference as long as he has the intellibeam pointing at him.
And Kevin, it's not that we don't like you or don't want you mixing at FOH, it's just that we don't like you and don't want you mixing at FOH.
Love all you brothas true, but I'm going back to enjoying my free 3 days in Paris (which translates to 3 days of sleeping with this being my second time around...) See you all at WW.
P.S. Yes dodd, I do not get the reference. Oh, and are you going to come to any of our shows in Germany this year? We only have Wiesbaden(sp?), Garmisch, and Ramstein left, so hopefully I'll get to see you at one of them... _________________ Manfred

Yer thinking too hard and taking the hard road around...
Fer the reference...try Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith from the "A" team...
You could also just knock his sweet tea over... |

I don't know if I'll be able to get to the Ramstein show (I have a pre-existing appointment late that afternoon). I'll definately make it to the toasting, and maybe to part of the show. When are you guys playing Wiesbaden? Garmish is too far away.

Wiesbaden, aka the USO Salute, is this Saturday.
Earl, I like the idea of knocking over his sweet tea. That should case enough of a distraction for us to walk on in and take over. You just make sure to bring that rice cooker along... _________________ Manfred

You guys are harsh! I can take a hostile takeover at FOH, but knocking over my sweet tea would definitely break my spirit, and possibly send me into some sort of shock induced coma. Darn you Earl for even suggesting it. Take care guys! _________________ K-Dub

OK, I can chime in here...Kevin, I will build you a spill-proof platform so your tea simply cannot be tipped over. Then we'll get Kellee to rig it with pyro so if anyone goes near it (except you) it will go off! How's that? Don't worry. I got your back on the sweet tea I have figured out those old school plastic car cupholders that hung from the door work great hanging off the side of a console case. Technically it is not on the case so no fines and it is in easy spill proof reach. _________________ Lee Alexander

Kerri,
Speaking of Chief's, mine asked me if I really wanted to go...as if it was a tasking like from the desert. Then I had to outline what I would be doing, how my time would be spent, and why this was important, what my shop coverage would be while I gone, etc. I didn't think they were going to let me go at first. Anyway, everything seems to be working out...trying to walk the paperwork through...Matt already has my flight scheduled so I'll see you there. _________________ K-Dub

Haven't been emailed the itinerary yet...Terri told me what day I'm coming back so I could adjust my paperwork. As soon as I get with Mr. Chambers, I'll let you know. You'll get to meet my dad also. He'll be coming down to help for a few days. He's old, but he can be fun too! Also, I was thinking about renting a car. Would it be worth it? I don't know if that tech van is still there, or if its even safe to drive. It was pretty bad last year. Anyway, ttyl. _________________ K-Dub

I am thinking about getting a car too. Uh, there was a Tech van last year? Oh, wait you mean the one from the Agency? Yeah, so I'm thinking of getting a car again. I rented one last year and it made life a LOT easier. I'd say we could go in on one together, but since your one of them Audio guys and I'm a staging person, we might be on different schedules. Then again, I'd let you borrow it if you ponied up some $$$.
So we get to meet Dad, huh? Cool! _________________ Kube est bonus.

Kerri,
I just reserved my own. It'll make it easier for me to go pick up my dad and stuff. Anyway, I have some of this magnetic paper you can actually run through an inkjet printer...I was going to put some sort of un-official audio vehicle saying on it. Something to do with buzzez and hums...What do you think? _________________ K-Dub

I just reserved my own, too! Whoa...weird! I'm getting it from on base, hoping to avoid all the airport fees. We'll see.
Only you would have magnetic paper, Kevin. Hmm, do I foresee a rental car decorating contest in the near future? Don't make me break out the sequin! _________________ Kube est bonus.

Just got my itinerary... I get into San Antonio at 1220. See you soon. And no, I would never start a decorating battle with a staging person. And I don't think the rental company would appreciate the gaff tape and staples stuck all over the vehicle. Talk to you soon. _________________ K-Dub
