Well, well, well, Ms. TaKeesha....I just have one question. Tell me what the BIBLE say, about beatin' up people....using sledge hammers n' stuff...TELLL ME!!
I must agree with everything you had to say...concerning tour. When things got a little rough on the tour (and yes Lawd they did) all we had was laughter. It was the exact medicine we needed to pull us out of a rut. And I tell you, no matter how bad someone wanted to stay mad, once the laughter train started, they had no choice but to join in. I'm laughing right now, as I think about those times on the bus. What about the time y'all took it upon yourselves to start giving folks beat-downs as birthday gifts? And y'all thought y'all were gonna get to me, but I was hip to y'all lil game and I road in the van that morning!! Haaa!!
TaKeesha I just want you to know that I really appreciate all that you were to me on tour. Not only were you the best dance partner anyone could have (remember sitting on the steps...Ha!!) but you were also eye-to-eye with me when it came time for joking and being silly. Love you girl.....just don't put ya hands on me ( I had to get another Madea quote in there)
Mr. Derrick and Mrs. Tracy Wright...thank you all for what you have given to me in terms of words of encouragement and advice to improve my craft. Even though I don't talk to you guys much at all, I often think of how much of an inspiration you were to me. Derrick, I read your post and it just had me thinking. I mean, when you began to thank those who helped you along the way in TIB land, I was like, "Man....that's what it's all about." And it's like the baton just gets passed down year after year after year. Love y'all!!
Mr. Huey Gauthier...MY MENTOR....I just love you and appreciate you in every way. You don't have any idea, how many great things you've imparted into my life. When I hear people say that I remind them of you, or when I'm called a lil Huey..Ha!!...I feel honored. To be put in the same category as greatness....makes me feel honored.
Mr. Jones.....you ready for some more smothered pork chops and potato salad?? Love you like I love a hot link on Superbowl Sunday!!
To my tour members... --lil bit of 1999...2000....and 2003...it's great to hear all the wonderful things you all are doing keep it up.....and be blessed.....love y'all.

And last but definitely not least....Mr. Edwards....thank you for this new and exciting opportunity. I really appreciate it.

Phew....I feel you Takeesha....this was definitely alot (sorry for being so long). That's what happens when you don't post often.

Everyday I find out how small a world this really is.

Saturday afternoon while at the Airlift Tanker conference in Tennessee amongst the 200thousand people there I ran into none other than Mr. James Green! I was eating in one of the courtyards and this guy walked in and sat at a table across from me. I immediately thought wow he looks a lot like JAG... after about two minutes I had to go ask him.

That made my day to see a familiar face and big smile. It's always like home to have even a minute to share with this family.

Ahhhhh to be back in Blue land again. WWTC is just not the same animal it was in my day, (hehe, aint I gettin old) but Id love to be able to go anyway. Ah well to bad I can't. Sounds like lots of "family" is going to be in for the gathering. Man Life can get way to busy if I cant even visit the site more than once every two or three months.
Francine girl you may call yourself an octogenarian, but Im sure ya still look great. (Im thinking that when you are 100 you wont look 80 yet) I Love ya girl. I have a CD I need to send you, (ya know I still hate recording, rather have folks to sing to rather than a mic to sing at) Ill try to get it out to you in the next week.

So im sitting here at 1130 in the evening, watching two dogs sleep and listening to three kids snore (just kidding, they dont snore,.....much) and thinking about TIB. It doesnt seem like it was almost 19 years ago that a group of people got together, then Chief along with the rest of the staff really got us together.
LOL I almost made one of those OLD person statements, and said these kids today dont know how good they have it. lol Thing is I dont think we knew how good we had it at the time. Ahh well we do now.

Gotta send out lots of Blue Love to all those out there in cyber land from an old Brighter Shade. We may be a bit dimmer than we were on tour but dangit we still shine bright!!!!

I wish i could be there, but my job would not allow.

Well I finished ALS on Friday night. I graduated now just waiting for January to put the stripe on. During the graduation I looked down at my TIB Ring and a tear came to my eye and I was so thankful for my BLUE FAMILY. I wasnt expecting it but I won The LEADERSHIP AWARD, DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE, & DRILL INSTRUCTOR AWARD. I am so thankful and blessed. Thank you to everyone who believed in me.

Mr Edwards thanks for giving me such an opportunity with this program. I am still applying skills daily that i learned while on tour.

2003-I love you and miss you all.

Takeesha...email me.....I miss ya boo!

Mr Jones.....Thanks for all your support and keeping me in line. I love you brother!

Have fun at WW, I hope to see TIB 05 when i come home in December!

I had to do some internet searching to find exactly where the article was located and in doing so I came across another article from a civilian newspaper that wasn't as discreet as the Air Force Times. This particular article took a man's name, who literally gave his life to our program, and defamated it into something contradictory to everthing this man stands for and everything he taught us to stand for.

Mr Edwards, my prayers are with you and with Tops In Blue. You can bet your ass that I'll do anything I can, however small it may be. I refuse to let someone destroy something we all worked so hard to create without putting up a fight.

I encourage every prior from 1953 to the present to do the same--write your Congressman, Air Force Times, Uncle Sam, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny--anyone that will listen. It's time for all of us once again to dig down deep give something back to BLUE. Many of us are who, where and what we are today because we're BLUE. It's time to Make It Happen....it's the 6th show in a row, we haven't showered in two days, nor slept in two days and it's showtime!!!! Let's do what we do.

God Bless each of us and God Bless Tops In Blue

Now this article is total horse ass. We had plenty of chances to go to church. I just chose to go to the Coliseum instead, or see the Eifel Tower. I wonder if he chose to do the same? I mean, honestly, I would have rather been in church than lifting some towers, but I am not going to just bounce on my teammates...well maybe to go to the bathroom for 2 hours and catch up on my sleep, but not to this extreme. It upsets me a lot to see this article out there.
Andrew, dude...WTF? We told you how many times at WW. They told you how many times at staging. Didn't Mr. Edwards ask you in the interview if your religion is going to conflict with the tour?
Did you miss something on tour? This was a year to be selfless. The very point of religion in the first place, and now the very mission of why we go out to the places we go, to touch all the peoples lives, you may take that away.
I remember when we went into Uzbekistan...correct me if I am wrong Rodney, there was this young A1C who was very depressed, being away from his unfaithful wife and deployed for this long time had him very very upset. It turned out that this guy played a little guitar and his first shirt came to us and asked if we would let him play a little during teardown. We might have saved this guy's life. All I remember is his smile afterwards. Once again, we MIGHT have SAVED this guy's life. Now, if TIB disappears. Who is going to be there next time? So selfish. I am truly disapointed.
Now yes, Mr.Edwards can be a little bold and brash sometimes and I have heard that in past years he was a lot harder. But our uniforms are considered official. If you are not supposed to wear the shirt, take it off...or make it not visible. You said you could see the shirt...and on top of that, you were in the freakin' desert dude. To take this extreme, you all went to Iraq right? You all went to extremist muslim countries. Not against religion here but it could be risky to have a religious shirt out there. If you could see it in Qatar and nobody mentioned it, then is it possible you would have forgot to take it off in ummm a lot more dangerous country? Who knows, but rules are rules. Whether it be a plain white tshirt or a LDS shirt. Oh, and thank you for defending my right to say this too.
You missed the point. Gimme' my ring back.

Do you have that other link Jamie?

To all,

i am appalled to hear what has happened. i cannot believe that anyone who worked so hard to get where they are and understood what the progam means to everyone who has, and is currently, serving in the military would do what they did. it seems to me that this person doesn't fully understand what Tops in Blue really is and why we uphold the rules of the Air Force to a higher standard than other members of the service. i might not have always agreed with what was going on, but i NEVER once spoke my mind to anyone outside of the group. i don't know if i come across as a person who takes direction very well, but i have so much respect for Tops in Blue and every single person who has been and currently affiliated with the program that i would like to sit down with this person and talk with them as to why they did what they did, but i know how my emotions sometimes get heated, so i will not. i hope every prior knows that the year i was priveledged to tour with this great group has truly changed my life in so many ways that i don't have room to list it all here.

if anyone would like to comment on my remarks, i ask that you do in my e-mail, if you do not agree with anything i have said.

to all at World Wide. I hope this year is better than any year before. good luck.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually sir, I've found out a lot of information about Airman Howells that needs to be reported, but I am awaiting results of the investigation. I will write an article if they are either positive or negative. Given the response from several who know Airman Howells, he was not completely forthcoming with me. I talked to several sources for the article and even gave the Air Force a chance to respond, although they did not say much. I would like to do another article as soon as possible, but getting anyone to talk on the record about it has been impossible. It is not my intention to ruin the TIB name. If you would like to talk on the record or know of anyone else who would, please let me know. I am leaving for Iraq on Dec. 1 so I would like to do a follow up article as soon as possible.

i have a question. if A1C Howell had a problem with Mr. Edwards, did he approach Mr. Edwards and try to resolve the issue? if he did not, then he is just as wrong. i agree that i have not heard the entire story and if anyone was offended by what i said earlier, then for that i am sorry, my intention was not to "smear" any PERSON. one thing everyone has to understand is that the media just tries to get people to read their story. they don't care how they go about doing it. if they hurt people, they don't care. the media is not required to apologize about anything they print, unless they (the editor) deem fit. the American public doesn't really care about the rest of the story either. they just read (and believe) what the media puts out there. let me give you an example of what i mean: how many people know of the Scion? it is a car that Toyota has started to produce. 70% of people in the public don't know about a Scion, because Toyota has chosen not to advertise it through the media. see my point? the media only cares about ratings. if you don't let the media aware of things, they have nothing to report so they will find another avenue to exploit.

i hope that helps. i know i don't always make sense, so if you have questions, just ask.

To Concerned '05 member and TO ALL:

On a personal note, I don't feel that this is the forum to say "Mr. Edwards made him do this or that", nor is it the forum to post A1C Howells' email. Two reasons:

Andrew is still a human being, he deserve respect as a human and right now there are a lot of us furious priors who may or may not email him with their personal opinions and further make our program look bad. How would it look in the NEXT AF Times to see that 50 TIB members sent "hate mail" to the already "so-called discriminated" A1C Howell.

Second, it pains me to hear from a CURRENT TOUR MEMBER that Mr. Edwards gave Andrew an ultimatum. As my brother, Ian, said; Mr. Edwards, as well as other priors made it clear on numerous occasions what was to be expected well before tour. There have been people in the past who were medically sent home, got better and came back the next year. But these people didn't talk about what we do on the road. For the story to "leak", as it was put, someone had to have told someone else.

Granted, I don't know the whole story, and quite honestly, don't care to know. What I DO know is that TOPS IN BLUE was attacked. I think we, as priors, need to think about the things we type on this board, as it is a public forum. Sometimes we may think we're defending BLUE, but rather, we're attacking someone who the press has already made out to be a victim. We, as priors, know the deal. I recommend, as I said before, writing your own congressman or perhaps contact your local PA.

Thanks for you time and once again, God Bless Blue

Jamie, first of all, there is no reason for you to feel any pain thinking that a CURRENT TEAM MEMBER put that post on the board. Everyone knows that this is the first day of the WWTC after the opening ceremonies AND every post has a time stamp. Those posts were at 1427 and 1503 EST making it an hour earlier in San Antonio. We personally attest that the current 2005 was in the Bob Hope Theater setting up the set for the performances this week. None of them have had the time to post on here in the last 24 hours. You can put that on the record.

Andrew, you have caused the TIB family a lot of pain from recent events by not being able to own up to a majority of issues, most recently being something as simple as posting on the board. We as priors have cried our tears and are joined together to get through this.

Well okay folks, so this board yet again becomes ripe for abuse by those who lack the integrity enough to identify themselves as the authors of idle chatter. So here's the new rule...all anonymous posts get deleted. If I suspect people are posting under false names, I'll delete those, too. If it even looks fishy, I'll probably delete it, too, unless by some miracle I end up having the time verify the post with the author.

For all concerned citizens out there, everyone in AEF leadership is aware of the recent posts, and no one other than myself has had anything to do with any deletions that have or will occur from this bulletin board.

For all my tourmates in the winter tour of 1982 - MISS YOU!

I started as a young, frail kid in 1980, taken under T.A. Burrows wing. He told me I could be a contender. I guess he was right. I got 1st in 1980 and 1982.

After touring in 1982, I got out and got involved with ahigh tech career, leaving my real love behind - sort of.

About a year ago, I heard someone say "If you died tomorrow, what regrets would you have?" I answered "that I never took up performing profesionally". So that's what I'm doing now (I didn't give up my DAY JOB, however.. it pays VERY well!)

Just got done filming a few movies, including "Sin & Lyle" (www.infinitepictures.org), "Jake Lead" directed by Robert Evans' son, Josh., and you can see me as the mime in the ReMax commercials (for about one second!)

...and I'm just getting started!

Too many people (like Chris Burch and Bob Morrow) have worked too hard for too long to create and maintain this forum for us and if it continues to be abused it may not be around for long. People who refuse to use proper channels of communication have always been the ones who ruin it for everyone else. CALLING ALL PRIORS: I'm trying to remember the nursery rhyme vocal warm-up that TIB 2000 used at WWTC and on tour. I know it was used long before we used it and I can't remember it. Here's what I do know. The bass line is "humpty dumpty sat on a wall, humpty dumpty had a great fall. All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put humpty back together again." Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Love Ya BLUE,
JD

JD,
If you can get a hold of Paige via e-mail or even Sarah, I think that they were the ones who taught it to us. I wish I could remember it. It was a fun warm-up.
Miss you bro! Same goes for all of 2000.
Good luck to all the WWTC 2006 contestants.
Bill Middleswart, if you read this, give a call when you can, OK? Or shoot me a message and let me know when a good time would be to call you.
Miss ya

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm ETS'ing on 28 Nov. I've had all the "Very Special" fun that I can handle for 9 years. I would like to hear from some of you who've crossed into the civilian world though, hell I'd like to hear from some of you who haven't. Anyway, lots of stuff has went on and I miss you all.

Well I need to get back to selling my house "yea".

P.S. Man I just had onna them "Disc" camera back in '86! LOL! Can't even find a place to get more prints made from those tiny little negs on a wheel! LOL. Now they give the casts a whole CD (scrap-book) compilation! Too cool! Technology can be a good thing! Matt '04 gave me a copy of his! Nice stuff '04 team! Be proud! I'm proud of you all! Glad I had a chance to interact! '06, I heard about the McGuire cancellation! Lucky for me, cause I was outta town that week anyway. So I'll be seein' yall in March I reckon! And from what I'm hearin' the intel says there should be at least three....count 'em 1,2,3!!!.....TIB prior drummers there to meet, greet, and help complete (teardown) wit my 'new Blue peeps.

P.P.S.
Justb saw the new movie "Jarhead" for the 2nd time yall with a friend. Pretty good yall! Great sound track! Made to USAF look pretty darn good too! Go "Zoomies"!!!! Can't go nowhere without the air support yall! Remember to thank your pilots '05 every chance you get! Specially in "Greenland!" Cause that's how we do it in Blueland ----G out...like "T.O." (Terell Owens in the 11th hour of the season!). It's all about the TEAM spirit yall! Can't win with egos! Check all that nonsense at the door '06! Its like basic training comradery only you get to bond for a WHOLE YEAR! And you absolutely CAN'T survive the journey without the team's support. FAMILY from staging to final banquet! Can I get an update (FYI/newsflash) from any prior peeps at worldwide? Know yall are pretty busy with the hectic schedule 'n what not....but we'd love ta hear how things are progressing. When you have a second or two! Somebody needs to start up a site just for Worldwide! I can see it now! "Past WWTC's", and the lineup for the current contestants repleat with bios of each performer etc. That would be such a cool thing for those of us who can't make it all the way to Texas each year due to factors beyond our control. In a word, if you can't bring all the priors to WWTC, then we could bring WWTC to THEM!!! There's a project for some ambitious IT tech- savy person among us. Just a thought Blue! Anyone in favor of such an idea can send me feedback at my e-mail address (click on my name above).

Go my Blue "zoomie" brethren! Miss all a yall soooooo much! Can't wait till March to get my annual teardown fix! Bring yer game faces '05. Get some yall!

First of I want to say thanks again to all the help from the staff, currents and priors. (and for putting up with the questions ...LOL) I could never put a price on everything that I’ve learned this week. I don't even know the sax player I was when I came in. I improved dramatically in 9 days which blows me away. But I feel that one of the most important things I learned was to stop caring about what people thought of me. It is an easy thing to say "ok I don't care what others think" but it’s a whole nother story to do it. I felt like on the dance night was when I truly stopped caring. I don't believe I could have given it my all if I was worried about what people thought about my dancing. And yes I’m laughing about it too. I feel as though I have a new confidence and that I’m no longer in a box. There is no way that the Nolan that arrived on Sun would have ever got up and done the "Nolan" at a banquet with my parents there. LoL... All in all I had a blast and I’ll be awaiting the verdict.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations on the Roger. I appreciate it. I didn't come in expecting to win anything. I just came to do what I could and left it all out there on the stage. The Roger was the result and it's an honor.

WWTC was great this year. I have a ton of new friends. Team 4 rocks and came right! Team 4, I love you guys and, hopefully, we'll be seeing each other at staging.

I'd like to thank Mr. Edwards for giving me the opportunity to compete this year. This year's competition has become a milestone for me musically and personally. I appreciate the experience. Thank You.

Lastly, I thank AFMDB for opening my eyes up to Boogie Oogie Oogie. I never even heard of the song until I heard you guys do it. It was a bit of a bold move to try and stomp on you guys' territory by picking that song. But, I figured, if you're gonna come, come big, right? I hope I did it justice for you guys. Well World Wide has finally come to an end. It was hard work but I had a blast and met a lot of wonderful people. I just want to take this time to say Thank you to all my team leaders, all the priors and all of Team 2 for all the encouragement and support. I could not have been placed with a better group of people. Mr. Edwards thank you so much for once again allowing me to come back and try again. I truly appriciate all that you have done for this program and all that you are going to do. Mr. Jones, you told me in March what I needed to do, and I did them. Thank you for taking the time to tell those of us that didn't make it then, how to be ready for Nov. Mr. Best, thank you for the song. How we were on the same page with that I guess we'll never know. It must be a Scorpio thang! To all the contestants, good luck! You are all in my prayers! We worked very hard this year and gave them a show. You all were wonderful and very talented. Regardless to what our fate is with Tops in Blue, never doubt your talent or be discouraged. Every last one of you are amazing! But it's not enough for me to believe it. You have to believe it too. We are all waiting on the same phone call so no one is alone. And if any of us don't get that call, hydrate and press. Start working on new material for next year because it comes around so very fast! So best wishes to all of us! Keep your heards up and walk by faith not by sight! Cause you never know....Anything can happen.

To Mr. Edwards, Mr. Jones, all the staff, priors, and TIB 2005, I would like to say thank you for letting me participate in this year's WWTC. It was definitely an experience and one that I would definitely do all over again.

TO TEAM 4 - you guys are awesome. It is hard to believe that 10 days has come and gone so by so quickly. It just seems like yesterday we were at Opening Ceremonies.

TO Percy, Jay, JD, and all of BETA Team members - You guys are awesome! It was an honor to work with such a group of individuals such as yourself. God Bless each and every one of you.

TO all the contestants from WWTC 2006 - good luck to each and every one of you. Mr. Edwards was right when he said that this would be one of the longest weeks that anyone could anticipate. It has only been a day, and with my job, my days usually roll right by. Not today. This was definitely a v-e-r-y s-l-o-w day! Just keep your heads held up high and be honored that you were part of WWTC 2006. God Bless and like everyone else - I wish each of you the best of everything that likfe has to offer!

Hello BLUE Family,
Part of WWTC this year (3rd year in a row) was the Giving Back program where I had the awesome task of developing little "mini-shows" with each of the teams. We went to the Daycare Center, Lackland Elementary, 345th Training Squadron, the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital downtown, etc... AF News came along with team 4 to the VA and there's a story on WWTC at www.af.mil. Here's the link

http://usaf.feedroom.com/iframeset.jsp?ord=569516

It this doesn't work just open up the TV icon at the top of the page at look at the news dated 16 Nov 05. We're the last story.

I'm proud of all the teams and honored to have had the chance to work with them. Good Luck to everyone on getting the "call."

Chief and Mrs. E.: THANK YOU for this opportunity and I hope to see both of you very soon. I love you !!!

As A prior, I come back to this program to give back some of what I've taken from it. The problem is every time I come back, I learn more and more and get further and further in the red.....I don't think I could ever give back enough to get in the black. Ya know, I love the color red anyway!!!!, but I love the color BLUE more!!!

It was awesome seeing all my BLUE family at WWTC. There are way to many to name, but I would be remiss if I didn't thank Josh and Libby for rushing to my rescue when I had my little "accident" and JAG, Well, you know the word on the street....tee hee hee!!!!

CONGRATS ON THE GOLDEN ROGER BRIAN!!!! WOOO HOOO!!, PROUD FOR YOU!!!!

Love Ya BLUE!!!

Brian Bird, congratulations again brother! I, along with all the Blue Techs out there, am very proud of you!

To the rest of the WWTC '06 Tech Staff, how amazing was that?!? Everything went so smoothly, it was unreal. From CAPTAIN Hannah keeping Bob in shape, to Kellee blasting everyone's eardrums out (que?), to Dave Jackson looking around in amazment at everything being done already, to Kevin giving me have a few precious moments with Floyd (aaaahhhhh), to Doug (aka Jeri's brother) being completely on the ball... it was an amazing time! Hello everyone ! Heard about the boards, wanted to get online ASAP. The WWTC'06 was great, tough work but great experience overall. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me and gave lots of pointers in becoming a better perfomer/vocalist. It all helped in the end. I have new memories that will last for a life time.
No guarantee of a spot on tour, but it was all worth the trip. Take care.

Much love,
Danielle

I just wanted to thanks to Mr. Edwards, Mr. Jones, and all of the staff at the World Wide Competition this year. It was an awesome time and I think that I learned a lot from going. I still can't believe that I made it and got the opportunity to go down and work on my craft for a week and to meet many amazing people who love to do the same things that I do.

I would like to also thank Ms. Libby, Mr. Wright, Mr. Josh, Erin and all the Alpha staff you guys rock and I loved getting to know all of you and getting the help and advice that you gave me throughout the week.

Thank you to Melissa and the choreographers for spending lots of long hours working with me on my dance and trying to help polish it up. I know it took a lot of time and I'm glad that you were willing to help me along the way.

Thank you to JD for letting us go out into the community to give back the program. I am a huge volunteer person and it was great to be able to do something on Veteran's Day to say thanks for people who served to keep our country the way it is. This is an awesome program, don't ever let it go.

To Team 5-You ROCK!!!! I had so much fun with you guys and I miss you already. Hopefully we'll get to see each other soon either on the bus or going to visit each other.

My first WWTC was awesome so once again thank you to everyone who helped to make it that way!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped me get to WWTC '06. The week was absolutely wonderful, and I am still amazed at my progress in such a short period of time. Mr. Edwards, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to come out and perform, it was truly a magnificent experience, one that I will never forget!

To my team leaders Percy, Gina, Susan, Jay, and Mindy, thank you for your tireless effort to help us succeed... the long hours really did help! We owe our performances to you and your help, so thank you.
Mr. Jones, Lorna, AWESOME Staff, Priors, the World's Most Dangerous Band, and TIB 2005, thank you for your enthusiastic support and encouragement throughout the week. Every smile was so VERY much appreciated...

To my teammates of Team Two... WOW! I want to say thank you to EACH and EVERY one of you for your support and friendship. The week was definitely a challenging one, and it would have not been the same without you. I do believe this week has and will be one of the longest, but let's all keep the faith as we wait on the phone call. Regardless of the outcome, remember, keep smiling!

Hello my beautiful brothers and sisters,

First and foremost congrats to Brian Byrd, yo go boy!! Well deserved!

I have so much to tell everybody I hardley know where to begin, so I promise to keep it short and sweet. (yea right)

I know it has been along time since I have posted and honestly it's just because I am so damn busy. I am running a business now and my company is growing and growing. Anybody out there that is doing the same you know what I mean. My little league team is heading back to the Super Bowl again for the second time in two years. We are very excited and are looking to repeat. Coaching is truley one of my bright spots in my life right now. Anybody out there that has ever coached youth sports knows just how special it is. They are 14 and 15yrs old and some of them are bigger than me! Here shortly I will be brokering loans in Florida on my own. So if anybody in the state needs a home loan which could be a refi,HELOC,2nd mtg, or new purchase just let me know. There are great rates out there right now and the programs are incredible. You will be amazed at what you can qualify for.

To my peeps... Walteeeeeeeeezzzzzyyyyyy what's up homeboy! I know you rocked WWTC as usual, and I wish I could have been there to see you. Kahlil happy late b-day!! JD, I remember the Humpty Dumpty song, ha! Monty, give a brotha a call sometime! Josh M. I can still picture you out there on stage wearing your all white suit singing the disney songs. I enjoyed looking through the cracks of the doors with you trying to find a little kid to bring on stage, remember that? Thank you for the pep talk before our game last week Ed. it worked!

To all my blue family out there, just know that you are missed and thought of. My tour brothers and sisters I miss you guys alot and love each of you. I hope all of you are successful in whatever you do. Don't let anybody hold you back and don't be afraid to step out there and take a chance. You will never know your true potential if you are sitting at home on your butt. You might fail, you might make mistakes, but get back up and go at it again. Use that failure and those mistakes to make yourself stronger and wiser. If you can make it through tour then you can make it through anything, remember that. To all of my Tops In Blue priors that are taking care of business I aplaud you and I am very proud of you. Keep going!

To all of the contestants and award winners, congratulations on your accomplishment. We look forward, to the few that do make it to the end, you joining our family. This experience will change your life.

Love you Chief

Hopefully one day we will cross paths and share the love of the arts once again.

Despite my bad luck since I got home from Worldwide, i.e. taking more than 22 hours to get home, losing my luggage for 2 1/2 days, having a deer run into my car, and various other incidents...

I must say that Worldwide was one of the BEST experiences (besides tour of course) that I have ever had! Thank you again Chief for trusting me with the responsibility of being a Team Leader and allowing me another chance to SING on stage!!! :D

Alpha Team~ Derrick, Libby, and Josh: Thanks for everything. You all mean the world to me.

DIVAS~ Ms.Tracy, Keesha, Starr, and Regina: I will share the stage with you any day! You ladies are true proffessionals. The Lady Marmalade Crew.

Priors~ You all made this worldwide unforgettable. Thanks for all your kindness, hugs, and laughs!

TIB 04~ miss all of you! It was awesome seeing Andrea, Kevin, Carlos (and Jen), Courtney, Starr and of course Lesa! Hope to see more of you guys in the future.

My bad...my fingers are moving faster than I can get everything out!!

Let me just say...Worldwide 2006 has been just what the doctor ordered for me. I must agree with you Erin, this experience has been a memorable time in my life that will always remain a part of my life for years to come.

Mr. Edwards, thank you for giving me an opportunity to give back all of what was given to me, back to the program...these were definitely big shoes to fill, and I happily took on the challenge.

Mr. Ed Jones, I appreciate how big your heart is, and I am even more blessed to have the opportunity of knowing you, and knowing that I can call and talk to you about any and wvwrthing....NOW GIVE HER A CAR!! (inside joke)

To my Alpha crew...Derrick...I am so glad that I had the chance to be under your wings once again. It was definitely a full circle moment for me. Thank you for allowing me the room to grow even more as an entertainer. My twin...Libby...you have now claimed a spot in my heart. I know now, that I'm not alone in this world with how I think about things...especially clothes...:-) Love ya tons!! And Ms. Erin...you are definitely a talented young lady. I know I kept you in tears laughing...and I beg to differ..I think you can be around me longer than 10 minutes!! :-) Love ya girl!!

Teams 1, 3, and 5...you all represented well!! Thank you for allowing yourselves to be open to what we had to give you. I'm sure some of you compared the DVD from your audition tape to the final performance tape and saw the difference...it's amazing how far you can grow when you just lay it all down and give all of yourself into your respective crafts.

My TIB family...Courtney, Lakee, Takesha, Miss Glo, Ms. Lorna, J-Bowman, Percy, Melissa, Regina, Starr, Andrea, Walt, Jerome, James Green, Mario, Godfrey, Kerri, Kelly, Chris, JD, Tracy, Dave...among so many others...it was so good to see all of you. That was probably THE biggest gift anyone could ask for. I felt like I was home!! I love all of you.

Terri....thanks for letting me bother you all the way up to this point!! :-) Skeeter..you my girl, make sure you get in touch with me....I would love to come and ride the horses!!

Anyone else I left out....charge it to my head and not my heart...

Now let's get on with the anticipation....

OOps didnt mean to send that last one so quick:)

Thank you all for the help you gave to each individual at the 2005 WWTC. I cannot thank you enough Mr. Edwards for giving me the opportunity to share the stage with such talented performers. You are an amazing man for holding up Tops in Blue for so many years! Beta team (Percy, Jay, Susan, and Regina), thank you for your advice, smiles, and encouragement. JD thank you for your friendly face and for giving team 4 the chance to perform together at the hospital and training sqaudron. Team four... YOU ROCK! I was amazed at how well we became friends! And I am truly pleased to know that many of us will be family for the rest of our lives! I love each and everyone of you and miss you terribly. I was honored and truly humbled by the amount of talent in this years talent contest. And I pray the best for everyone. I know that the 2006 team will be amazing! TIB 2005, thank you for your time. Whoo!!!! I am so happy for Tenisia, Geoffrey, Amanda and NOLAN!!!!! Wow, I am just so excited for you all!!!

Well, I made it safely back to my base and I finally have some time to say a few words.

First off, I would like to thank my Alpha Team leaders!! You are an awesome group of indiviuals!!! You all believed in me and helped me the whole way and for that I will always be grateful.

Team 5: You are the coolest group of AF personnel and I am glad that I had a chance to be apart of it. So many talents and abilities you all have. Those are the things that will take you far in life. I will always think of you all and wish you all the best in your life.

Mr. Jones: I am very, very thankful for the words of wisdom that you gave me a few weeks before I came down there. You really put things in perspective for me and I was able to come there focused and ready to show how I have changed. You told me what I needed to do and how to apply it. Thank you for showing me what I needed to do and believing in me. You are a wonderful person and I am blessed to have met you and be in your presence.

Mr. Edwards: Sir, I thank you most of all for seeing the potential in me. You saw my capabilities and took a chance with me again and I will forever be grateful. Because of you and TIB as a whole, I was able to see what I needed to change in my life. I took advantage of my opportunity to be around those who have changed for the better. I took note of what I needed to do, stop doing, and/or continue doing. I have matured in the mind, as well as with my emotions. I now understand that it isn't all about the talent. It is about whether I am able to give a piece of myself to others and the program. It was a hard lesson to learn, but a great one at that. It has benifited my life by enhancing my work ethics here at my job and how I interact with others around me. I am so glad that you and the AFE staff saw the changes in me. Because of you and your staff, I have a greater confidence in myself and all the things that I do in my life. It is good thing that I am learning all of this early in my AF career; it will make me a better enlisted personnel in the future.

In conclusion, so much has been given to me in the course of 10 days that many people try to get throughout their whole lives. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Much love from afar

Breona Rancher

Thank you JESUS !!! I was told to come into work for a couple of hours. I thought we were undermanned for today. I was actually doing work, looking crazy because I didn't do my make-up or hair today. It's only a couple of hours with the guys. Then, I get notice that the base Commander is coming into my shop within mins. Then the whole room fills up with people and there are cameras. I HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR TOPS IN BLUE !! My Wing Commander put a coin into my hand and they told me I could go home. The only reason why I came in is because they had the news planned for me. Oh my gosh...now I'm leaving to call my Mama in San Diego. I'm so excited.
Thank you to everyone...Beta Team Staff, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Jones...all who assisted both military and civilian. I plan to give you my all.

Much love,
Danielle

Talk about a few nerve-wracking days! I finally got the call and I can’t even describe how excited I am to be on the next Tops in Blue tour. I never could have done it without all the wonderful entertainment staff and special thanks to Mr. Edwards and the wonderfully splendiferous Beta team leaders! Thank you JD and all the techies and combat camera guys – you made the whole thing possible! (I feel like I’m giving a speech at the Oscars…) Just one more thing – I miss and love all my beloved Team 4: Mama, Grandpa, Pigeon, Raptor, Pumpkin Bread, Chubbs, Tongue, LDB, Ricco, and Romeo – Rock on guys! Taco Johns!!!!

CONGRATS to everyone that has made the 2006 team thus far. Well deserved!!

Thanks to everyone at the WWTC. All of you are so talented, it blows my mind. (You never know how good you are until you've been around other people who are just as talented as you are.) This was a very humbling expereince for me, I learned a lot and I really enjoyed myself.

To Team One- You all were awesome and I will be sure to keep in touch!!
Derrick- Lots of wisdom can be endured from you and your wife. Thanks
Joshua- You do know how to represent Louisiana well:)(Continue to keep it real)
Libby- You are fabulous!! Thanks for everything.
Erin- You are very talented. Thanks.
La-Kee- Thanks for the words of wisdom and for styling my hair.

Here's an encouraging message I had to share:

THE POWER OF PRAYER. I believe that God only gives three answers to prayer:
>
> 1. "Yes!"
> 2. "Not yet."
> 3. "I have something better in mind."
>
God still sits on the throne. You maybe going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that you cannot imagine. Stay encouraged. The best is yet to come.

Much Love to All,
Angela

When I went to my first Worldwide and the results came out, as people posted on the board that they made it, someone took it upon themselves to keep a list of who's made it so far. Although I can't keep up this list on my own due to a busy schedule, I figured that I'd start one up.

If you get selected, or know of someone who does, copy the list, add the name of the newest selectee to it and repost the list for everyone. We'll watch it grow together. :) Here's what we know so far:

1. Tenisia Jones - Female Vocalist
2. Danielle Huges - Female Vocalist
3. Geffrey Stirrup - Male Vocalist
4. Nolan Wright - Instrumentalist - Saxaphone
5. Amanda Agular - Musical Variety
6. Bethany Schwartzkopf - Musical Variety

Now, one last thing, just because someone was a vocalist at WWTC 2006, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be doing that on tour. They could be a kick butt techie and you'd never know it. So, when the names start filling up, don't think that you don't have a chance anymore. Chief brews up stuff in his mind that you could never imagine. This is an unofficial list and eventually, a final list will be released. Until then, always keep hope. God Bless and good luck to all of you. It was a pleasure sharing such a wonderful Worldwide experience with all of you.

HEY YA'LL!?! I made it!!!!! I didn't get to shake hands with my wing commander like everyone else...But, you better believe that my supervisor called. HA!

I want to take this opertunity to thank Mr. Edwards and Mr. Ed Jones for giving me the chance to perform, show my growth and improvement. Those ten days were very humbling for me, and will not soon be forgoten. You gentleman opened my eyes, and although I have much growing and learning to do, I feel you pointed me in the right direction. "Know when you are on the stage...Know when you are off the stage". Again thankyou, I wont let you or my teammembers down.

Congrates to everyone else that has made it!! Team 3, you were like family to me. I will never forget you. I came home all depressed, and not feeling at home with myself. It's because you guys weren't around to make sure I got to the van on time, stop me when I was about to cuss, and most of all, cheer me on, when I said I wasn't doing my song well. I miss being able to here ya'lls songs, and learn and form eachother, help eachother, hug eachother. You guys werew the best thing that ever happened to me. And because of you I finally feel a sence of purpose in the Air Force. I'm for real! Befor I used to just do my job. Now, I feel a drive to learn more and be better at it and every other opstical I encounter. And I hope you guys feel the same way. WE WILL KEEP IN TOUCH!

And last but not least. Josh, Libby, Derrick, Erin, Denise, Pearcy. Thankyou sooooooo much for having faith in me and working with me. I couldn't have asked for better people to lead through. You guys are the best. There are no words to express the joy and graditude I feel right now. Thankyou for sitting me down and talking to me, letting me know how it is I am being precieved, and how I'm not showing my true self. It hit me at the heart, but it was good. It has helped me figure out who the REAL Adam Combs is. Some times all you need is for some one to believe. I love ya'll. Thankyou, from the bottom of my heart.

It's always hard to come back to reality after Worldwide. I just want to start by saying thank you to AFE and especially you Chief for once again allowing me to be a part of something wonderful. Every year I feel as though no matter how hard I try to give back, I always leave with something more than I can ever repay...I guess it'll take a lifetime. I really don't know what I'd do or where I would be if weren't for TIB. It's like a drug that I'm addicted to.

To all the contestants...you all have touched my life in a very special way and I will never forget you. Please, if this isn't your year...come back. Like Mr. Edwards said, you are all good enough to be TIB, it's just a matter of who will fit for this year. Don't get discouraged and miss out. Take what you have learned and continue to hone your craft. For those who do get the call, remember this day...you're gonna need it. For there are times when you will have to dig deep to keep going.

Derrick...what can I say? Well, there are no words. My mentor, my friend. You'll never know the impact of your kindness, wisdom and love have had on me. I love you more than words can express. I just don't think you know how much I aspire to be a prior like you. I am honored and blessed to be a part of your team and would have it no other way.

Tracey...there are few people that I feel a deep bond and most of all respect for. You are one of them. I love your spirit and 'your truth' in all that you do. I admire you and hopefully one day, I can become half the woman that you are.

Errrnnnnn...it was truly a pleasure to get to know you. I have learned from you and please keep coming back. I would work again with you any day. I am blessed to have had the time with you. You are so sweet and shy, until the stage and girl you just tore it up!!!! I look up to you.

Josh...my twin. It's uncanny how we clicked. You're a rare person and I wish that there were more like you. But, then I just don't know if the world could handle it (the two of us is enough :)). I know you and Huey may have to fight, but please come back.

Percy...AKA "The Greatest Realtor on Earth" :) I love you and thank you for being there for me. You are another prior that I look up to and can't tell you how much you mean to me.

Jeri...I know that I've said this before, but you are one of the most amazing people I have ever known. This program could not survive without you. If there's anything I can do...you know that I'dmove heaven and earth to do it.

Carol, Terri, Bob, Ed, Matt, Cpt Chris...thank you for all your help. I know that you guys are busy enough, but you still take time to take care of us priors and I can't say thank you enough.

Glo, Chris B., Skeeter, Takeesha, Starr, JAG, And all the HQ staff. you guys are wonderful.

Dave, Kelly (AKA P.Q.), James, George (AKA "The Mantis"), Doug and all the Techs...you rock and a show just wouldn't happen without you. Thanks.

Spence...it was great to see you. Let me know when you graduate.

And last, but definitley not least, Mr. Edwards...Where do I begin? It would take a novel to say all that needs to be said. You know how I feel. Thanks for taking a chance on that 'chubby little girl' almost 12 (good grief!) years ago. You changed my life and for that I am eternally grateful. Mrs. Edwards... you looked marvelous and I am happy that things are getting better for you. I love you both so very much. Thank you....

I just want to thank the Lord for blessing me with such an wonderful family. I just can't imagine not having each and everyone of you in my life. I love you all...even the priors I have never met. You all mean so much to me. God Bless.

TIB 2005, I admire you for representing the program so well even through such adversity. Thank you for keeping tradition going.

Sorry so long...just had to say what's on my heart.

Hey Blue
First and foremost...CONGRATS to Brian "Big Fun" Bird, audio sensei and Golden Roger winner. You truly deserve it and I'm glad that I was there to see your night to come out of your cubbyhole and take your rightful place in the spotlight for once. Now that you've retired, I am the last of the "old school" active duty techs, how scary is that??
A few shout-outs to my people -- Dave, Kerri, Kevin, the TIB techs, The Mantis, and The Wise and Knowing Doug, thanks for making this Worldwide awesome as always and by far the most trouble and trauma-free gig we've worked in years. Makes you feel a little guilty that there was no perpetual crisis to freak out over...Chief asked me what in my opinion was "different" about this year's WWTC and I would have to say that it was pretty much the difference between banging rocks together to make fire and nuclear fission. Thanks to this year's TIB cast in general; some years the cast is very insular and hard to get to know but you all were a joy to work with at all times, both as a project officer and as a tech for Worldwide. I had so much fun quoting The Simpsons while calling spot cues! :) Bill, Terra, Tam, Greg, Shane, Christine, Lighting Jon, Lee, and everybody else...have a great rest-of-tour and finish strong! To Mama Glo, Skeeter, Miss Terri, and the rest of the staff, thanks for a memorable night at Denny's (Andrea, you ordered a French what?)
And of course to Jeri and Mr. Tom "The Great and Powerful Oz" Edwards...thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me. You have taught me 90% of the most important lessons in my life and I am forever grateful for every opportunity you've graciously given me. I am forever in your debt and anything you EVER need, I'm there.
Congrats to everyone so far who has gotten the call, standby for wisdom and helpful hints from priors regarding your tour...ask questions now to avoid problems later.

Just wanted to send a personal shout out to the newest TIB GR recipient...Mr Brian Bird. Brian, it was refreshing to hear that your contributions to the program were recognized with the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a prior. You've made countless musicians/singers sound great for almost two decades with the program and you’re worthy of the honor you've received.

Darryl McEachin - Take care of yourself and be safe. Miss and love you brother.

Jim W - Hope all is well on the West Coast. Miss learning from you.

Lucky B - Hope things are going well for you my brother. Miss laughing with you.

Chris K – Hope all is well with you and Joanne. I’m sure the group’s staying busy in SA.

Lo aka Sandman – I’m still challenged by your drive, passion and enthusiasm for our beloved instrument. Thanks for being my “bass big brother!”

To the rest of my TIB Priors family - I wish you blessings and peace as you endeavor to make a difference each and every day.

Cheers...Z

Hey Sandman...

You still thumpin' on that piece of wood bro??? Gimmie a hollar at me e-mail above if you get this message. And anyone who is in touch with LS would you please put "a bug in his ear" for me and let him know a certain '87 drummer is tryin' to hook up.

Just a little (TRUE) WWTC story for yall to ponder. Once upon a Talent Comp...way back in the day when our '87 instr. group, known as "Ulterior Motives", attacked the stage at worldwide that year (for the second time in a row!) I vividly recall the exact moment while standing in the wings backstage waiting in the que to go on when I fist heard the mighty chops of the Blue one they call "Sandman!" Although ther moniker Sandman conjurs up thoughts of sleep etc., this guy was FAR from asleep when he hit the stage for his incredible instr. solo! In fact, he took the house by storm (a Sandstorm that is! LOL) and brought down the roof as it were with his undeniable talent, precision, and "in-the-pocket" groove playing on bass!

But here is the ironic twist! As myself and my boyhood friend and high school musical chum from CAPA (High School for the Creative and Performing Arts class of '84, YIKES!!) James Amey - '87ss keyboardist - stood listening intently to what was about to be unleashed on the unsuspecting audience, we suddenly realized that the song Sandman chose to perform, was the very song we (our band) had wanted to do originally!

We had put the song aside because our bass player that year (good as he was) was not quite adept enough to cover the complicated and funky fast runs, tricky fingering, and harmonic changes that permeated the entire song. The exact name of the song now escapes me (almost 20yrs ago!), but it was by the 80's Philly funk group known as "Pieces of a Dream". Incidentally, we (James Amey an I) chose to do a song by "Pieces" as a sort of tribute (homage) to their success as they were also CAPA Alum only they graduated several years before we arrived.

So you can imagine the shock we were in to hear someone doing "our song" from backstage in the dressing rooms! Man we just totally flipped out and RAN out to see who it was and how well it was being done. Needless to say, we were extremely impressed, and afterwards we me up with Lorenzo and joked about how we would have brought him down to Eglin to or co-opted him into Systems Command just to have him do the song with us behind him! He did this song SOLO yall!!!! That should tell you something about how good of a bass line ran through it, and how confident he was that he could master it alone and perform it live as a solo act! Pretty brave and ambitious, I'd say.

But the best part of it all was that, his personality and his professional demeanor matched his musical abilities to a tee! Very laid back and soft-spoken, he was (until TIB got hold of him and brought him outta that shell! LOL). Back then, he was a man of few words, and he let the bass speak for him. And once the judges caught wind of the groove...that's all she wrote!!! That was the year of the funky bass players. Gary and Lorenzo doin' their thang.
And TIB '87 lived happily ever after!

G out...like the Pats and the Eagles! Dang!

2005 - It was great to see of all you here (with our "intimate" crowd) at Langley.

I loved your show, and those who missed it really missed out. How far you all have come from staging!

Horn section - you guys are awesome.

Ladies - way to lay it out there. Terra... major kudos to you... I hardly recognized that CONFIDENT woman who was up there in control of the stage!

Eddie - you already know! E-mail me at the address above for the number, had to run get D-man in bed before I got a chance to get it to you.

Tam and Bill - keep taking care of each other and hang in there! Remember you can call ANY time... I'll even answer the phone during finals for you!

Cheers,
Laura

This will be quick as I am still trying to dig out my desk from being gone to WW.....

Congrats to a wonderful brotha, Mr. Brian Bird. Well deserved! Thanks again to the staff for letting me come down and get "my fill" of all things musical. Contestants, your are all exceptional folks who were a pleasure to work with (from the instrumental side of things).

Mr. Best, it was a great pleasure seeing you again and partaking of your great wisdom.

Sandman, thanks for the lessons. As soon as I'm done with this post I'll be removing my hands as they are no longer needed for Bass playing.

If I had the time to list everybody else I surely would. Thanks to everyone for allowing me the opportunity to help out. It fills my soul for another year.

Much Love,

I am so disappointed -- this is the second year in a row that the Tops In Blue have come to South Carolina (Sumter) and we have been unable to attend. The Patriot Hall is a lovely establishment but it can NOT accomodate the about of patrons who want to attend. I just called and THERE are no tickets to be had -- understand this is a FREE concert but the establishment is small ans had limited space. I have never missed a concert and my husband has since retired. Very disappointed in Columbia, SC.

Whoa...talk about shock treatment. I've been on leave and I had to go into work to work on my troops' training records before I go out of town for Thanksgiving. I'm sitting in my office in civilian clothes and my Commander walks in to tell me that I've made it!!! Praise Jesus! I'm down with it.

Thank you, Mr. Edwards, for trusting me to handle business for another year. I wont let you down.

Here's the new list:

Hey Blue,

Thanks to all of you who are posting the results for the '06 cast selectees.....but one small favor to ask....could you all also remember to put "prior" in brackets [] next to those to whom it may apply....for those of us old heads who may not be familiar with all the newer priors names etc.?? And the year they toured as well (if known - check the priors yearbook link etc.)

Thanks yall!!! Especially JDV (Congrats Bro!), Amanda Jade, Nolan Wright (Congrats Bro!), Carmen Andrews (Congrats 2 U!), Mimi Ledet (Congrats Girl...Maam!) for posting the results thus far. And to all the new teammembers. Welcome to the fold! And also to all those yet to come...whoever you are...pre-congrats! '06...your journey has only just begun! Now you must LEARN TO EARN the honor of being BLUE (TIB) by working together and pushing yourselves and your fellow teammates farther musically than you have ever done in your entire lives! Come prepared to work your tails off and psych yourselves up mentally before you hit staging! Then attack your songs like a lion! Pace is important...especially for the vocalists, but your teachers will guide you and let you know when to give more. Remember, although it may be/seem "tough" for you all....they do it year after year....so you are in good hands!

Gerry
'86 n' '870s

P.S. To the future '06 loadmaster....good luck and bring or buy a digital camera or a polaroid for the truck and the pallets. That's my little bit of advice. It sure helped me in the first few weeks. After that, it will be written in stone (by the neurons!). Big responsibility! Also...WEAR A WEIGHT-BELT or lower back-brace. It DOES HELP! In fact, all of '06 should consider buying those black stretchy braces for set-ups and tear-downs one you hit the road! I'm not sure if they provide those for yall these days. They are fairly inexspensive at the BX! I know the hard-hats are provided! We didn't have no hardhats *%$@#& "back in the day"yall. LOL 's why we old heads are a lil hard-headed! LOL! Luv ya Blue! Congrats '06! Have fun too! That's what its all about! Makes staging more bearable!

I'M IN COMPLETE SHOCK!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!

So here's the scenario...I'm on leave in Arizona for the holidays. I'm sittin in an Asian restaurant having lunch. I notice a missed call and don't recognize the number. I call it back, "Hi, someone from this number just called me." My commander on the other end says "yes, that would be Lt Col Black, your commander. You're on speaker phone." "Oh hi ma'am," I say, "why am I on speaker phone?" "We all just wanted to be here to congratulate you on becoming the newest member of TIB!!" The room goes nuts, everyone in the background is screamin and clappin. I'm sittin there in the restaurant, tons of people around, CRYING, laughing, shaking, in disbelief. That had to be the happiest moment of my life!! I can't contain the excitement. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH Mr. Edwards for selecting me. Sir, I will not disappoint you!! I can't say thank you enough to eveyone. You all have made the biggest impact on my life. I won't ever forget any of you!! I wouldn't be here if it weren't for so many wonderful people that I learned from. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! This is an absolute dream come true!! I've never been happier. Congratulations to all that have gotten the call thus far. I know it's tough waiting, but hang in there everyone. I look forward to seeing the rest of the team come together!! I can't wait til Feb!!

To keep the list simple, and to not cause confusion, let's keep the list current with only the name of the selectee and what they did at Worldwide. Although some folks may already know what they're doing when they get on tour, others do not. Some people may have been selected for something they did at worldwide, but you did not see. Don't make assumptions about what the team will look like when you get there. You will probably be wrong.

Yeah, no kidding about the WWTC roles compared to what role you you fill on the Team. JDV can tell you about that, right Purple Rain? Ha ha! You KNOW I couldn't let it go! Long story short, he auditions as a guitarist, didn't get selected, showed up to help out with staging and got picked up for audio. You just never know... Mr Edwards has a way of finding and bringing out your most beneficial traits (for the Team and yourself) even if you don't see them right away. At the time you might not understand, but in the end, you will! Just do and be your best!

Congrats and good luck to those chosen so far!

Hmmm...anonymous posts...bad juju.

I have a suggestion to all eager new TIB selects and those still waiting. Do not bother keeping the list going. It takes up mucho space on the board and gets pretty darned repetitive. In a day or so, I will get the official list from the agency and I will post it for all to see at the top of the board. That avoids the confusion and a lot of wasted space. So please be patient and continue to post your news, just try to resist duplicating the list...again.

Good luck...be patient...don't give up if you don't make it this year.

Hello TIB FAMILY!!!

So yesterday as I was walking out the door from work, my boss (the FW/CV) calls me in his office and says our wing commander wants to talk about an upcoming itinerary for a General next week. I was all nervous and then he starts talking about how this General might want to see Tops in Blue next week and proceeds to tell me I made it.

So I just want to say thank you to Mr. Edwards and the rest of the TIB family past and present. Best wishes to everyone. I'll be keeping ya'll in my prayers.

2006 BABY!!!!!!!

PRAISE GOD!! PRAISE GOD!! PRAISE GOD!! I MADE THE TEAM!!!!!!! I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!

I AM JUST SOOOOOOO GRATEFUL FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Oh my goodness...

Ok, this is how I found out...

It was 1600 my time here when my Section Commander told me to drop off an envelope to my Squadron Commander. He was up at the Group. Now, I dont have a car, so I had to ride my bike all the way to the Group...Ramstein is a VERY LARGE base. So I get to the Group and I knock on the door to the Conference room where the meeting was held. They unlocked the door(why it was locked, I dunno) and they let me in. ""Col Moon, here is the envelope you needed"", I said and I started to walk out but they stopped be. He opened the envelope and said ""Oh, Col Acevedo, I think this is for you"", They all look at me, and I was really worried because I had no idea what was coming next. He looked at the paper that was inside the envelope and said. ""Why do you keep bringing me news like this?"" ""What news, sir?"" At that point I was scared. ""News like: You made the Tops In Blue team!!"" I dropped to the floor and was crying...in front of a bunch of Officers!!! I was shaking and crying and laughing all at the same time. They all applauded and shook my hand and my Group Commander gave me a coin and said ""Make us proud."" My Squadron commander told all of them how I tried out in March and didnt make it, and then went again a few weeks ago and came back with a Wilco. They were all smiling and congratulating me.

OH MY GOD!!! Chief thank you soooo much for beleiving in me!!!I will work my hands and feet to the BONE!! Mr Jones, I thank you too for letting me know what I needed to do. I appreciate the advice whether it was given to me back in March or earlier this month.

Derrick, you are an awesome person and you were there for me the WHOLE step of the way and knew what I was capable of from the start!

Josh: You knew that I had what it takes to be TIB bound and I thank you for looking out for me and telling me what I needed.

Libby: Remember when you told me to not get comfortable and to always be practicing? remember? Well, I thank you for telling me that because it kept me up and going even when i wanted to just sit around look at others. You knew what I needed to hear!

Lorna: I LOVE YOU!!! YOU kept believing in me even when I got discouraged. You are my rock and I am so grateful that you put your time and advice into me!!!!

Team 5:I love you guys!!! Nolan, I am right there with you!!!!! I can't wait to see you again, Buddy

Everyone else: I am looking forward to being on the team with you!!

To those that prayed, and prayed and prayed for me (you know who you are), I thank you as well!! You guys are the reason why I kept believing(well God too) and I thank you for showing me your love and dedication to me, even now. That is what we need from here on out to make it as a team!!!

Ok, I know that this was long...

THANK YOU !!!!

Congratulations to the newest talented Airmen seven-steppin' their way on down the long yet rewarding road to becoming Blue! Your journey has already begun.

Much love to all my family in Blueland. It was so wonderful reuniting with you to help make this year's talent contest such a success. Don't you love seeing all the fresh faces (and familiar ones too) trying their best to join Tops in Blue?! The genuine desire to be a part of this program is amazing! I'm so proud to be Blue.

Now, future TIB ladies....We gotta lotta-lotta work ahead to add some diva glam to your 'fresh faces'! Just give me a holler and I'll help ya out with any advice I can give. I'm so proud of you!!!

Take care and GOD bless!

Ciao,

Hello Blue Family!
First, I'd like to congratulate those folks selected for 2006! February will be here in a flash, so get all your finances and other stuff in order before then. You have a lot more time to do this than other teams in the past, so make a list and check it twice that way you won't have any worries while in staging because you will have enough to do w/ learning the new show on only a few hours sleep.
Other news.......
I just wanted to let you, my family, know that I had my consultation w/ the OB doc yesterday and Baby Ross (Sheryl Catherine if she does come out a girl)will be delivered at 0800 on Tues, 13 Dec. Please mark your calendars and keep my family in your prayers during this time. A C-section may be routine, but it is major surgery PLUS I'll be awake this time, so I'm scared and could definitely use the prayers.
I hope that everyone has a happy Turkey Day and that all of you stay safe.
Much Blue Love
Lola

First, congrats to all the new selectees. It will be a long hard road, but you can do it! John, Ryan says ""Way to go cousin!""
Lola...Keep the faith girl. I was awake for both of my c-sections. It is so much better that way. I wouldn't do it any other way! If you need ANYTHING please let me know. Give me a call sometime if you get a chance. We just moved to New Baden, so I am pretty busy unpacking, but I will gladly make time for you! Are you having the baby at St. Elizabeth's?
Glo...I know you are very busy, that's why I haven't called. If you do get a chance, give me a call. I would live to hear your voice!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

A Big COGRATULAIONS to all of the WW winners and contestants.

Lots of Love to all of the 2006 Baby Blues...

MCGUIRE is One The Map! I, being the self-appointed, unofficial, head prior in-charge at McGuire AFF, have been here alone for the past 7 years and I have always envied the Capital Area Priors (CAP).
However; last week I was blessed to have a group of local priors here come together and sing Christmas songs for the Maintenance Groups Thanksgiving Day Feast.
Working with family was outstanding! They were talented, professional and focused.

Tamara Fisher(Welch,)2003 sang beautifully! Oh my God! My drums tried to remain silent so they could hear her voice; but not hers alone.
David Weaver, 2004, was her complement in every way. No one would guess that they had never sung together before. We only ""rehearsed"" Wednesday night, and performed Thursday afternoon.
Gerard ""Gerry""; AKA: ""Baby Guido"" Semola, 1986 & 1987, backed them up with some very smooth and delicate rhythms (and you thought he just typed on the board a lot)
Unable to make the event, but present here at McGuire are

Eugene Brown, Vocalist 1989

James Rollins, Keys 1999 (Im working on a fine CAPs, any suggestions?)
We were blessed to have a dynamic keyboardist, Rob McReynolds. He's not a prior, but he was able to hang. And a young SF (that's Security Forces) bassist. We may be sending him to WW next year.
I needed a Techie. The sound in the hanger was. Off. But we pressed-on, and had a great time.

Im looking forward to a MAP (McGuire Area Priors) get-together over in Philly, Baby Gs domicile.
Its great to be back with the Blue.

Let me find out....

Tell me Team 6 ain't the team that kicks. I'm so excited, it'll be reunion and now we know that we already get along. The last shall be first and the first shall be last. I'm like 5 hrs ahead of E.Coast so I was worried about those of you in the States who still have to sit through the whole day waiting for news.
The list still doesn't seem long enough. Hey, I want to chill with some priors in 2006 and soak up all that wisdom to save us some sleep, headache, and yelling time.

Thank you Ma'am, I already know Charles. He had some stories for me too. That's another topic, another day. I'm talking about actual priors on the road with us. I don't think this is really hitting me, maybe I'll feel it closer to leaving my base. Right now the overload of congrats from people I hardly know in my squadron alone is driving me crazy. Guess I need to get used to the fishbowl, handshakes and smiles.

Anyway, first things first...this is a post on behalf on Larry Frey who sang ""Open Arms"" at WWTC 2006....

I'M ON THE BUS!!!!

Congrats Larry! Can't wait to see you in February.

Ryan and Buffy...hello right back at you guys!!! Hopefully I'll see you on the road. Are you still at Scott???

Danielle, as you know, I'll be touring with you guys. I'll try and help the team as much as I can. However, every team has its own personality. The team will grow and learn together...which means we're still gonna get butt chewin's! :) But it's okay, it's part of what makes tour so great...there are ups and downs, but the memories you look back on will only be the good.

That's it for now...one more congrats to Larry Frey!!! That's one more for team 4. Do we have anymore?

I don't get on here as often as I used to but I think of you often (every time I hear a song on the radio - HAHA) TO THE NEW BABIES - Remember this feeling and never let it go. There will be times on the road where you will need to remind each other of how it felt to be selected. I know you will represent us well. I look forward to meeting you.

Chief - I love you and how you believe in us. I tell people I have an entertainment Daddy that raised me to be the entertainer I am today. God has placed a special gift in you and you use it well. Thank you for seeing that ""special something"" in all of us.

I'm not sure how or where to start. Today has been one of the longest days of my life to say the least. I waited for not only a call from TIB, but also the results from my DLPT, my language proficiency test, which determines whether I'll do my job or not. At the end of the duty day, there was good news and bad. At about 11:30 I got a call from the SSgt that is in charge of my flight's recall roster. She told me by order of the commander to report ASAP to the 338th. I think that my heart almost stopped. THIS IS IT! I practically ran the whole way. I walk into the room and the SSGt who called says: ""You've been selected for ...... A MANDATORY PEE TEST."" I wanted to stand there and pee all over her desk, but I refrained. She had no idea that today was the day that I'd find out if I made TIB or not. Well today I didn't get the call, so I think that it's pretty safe to say that I won't be touring with TIB 06. I did score really high on the test, so today wasn't a complete disappointment, heartbreaking, but not completely disappointing.

I would like to say thanks to MR. Edwards and all of the behind the scenes people who made World wide possible; thanks to all the ALPHA team leaders, the insight and the encouragement that they gave to me, especially Josh and the time he spent working with me on my song; and thanks to JD for working with us and giving us the opportunity to go out into the community. I had an incredible time, one that I'll never forget. Tonight as I look back on the experience, I can't believe some of the things that I did and what a complete idiot I looked like trying to dance out there, but I had fun doing it and that's all that really matters. I met alot of people and made alot of friends. To those that got the call, I'm proud and to those that didn't I'm just as proud. I know that everyone gave it their best shot, and that's what's most important. Congrats to those who made it. You've got your work cut out for you. Remember the most rewarding things in life are the ones that you have to bust your butt for. I challenge you to have fun, work as a team, hold each other accountable, encourage one another, ie: BECOME A FAMILY. You better believe that anytime TIB 06 tours anywhere close to Ft. Gordon, I'll be there in the front row cheering you on. And to those that didn't make it, I hope to see you again next fall. Look at Tenisia and the others in the past that didn't make it the first time around. They came back ,and if you really want it, you will too. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. This year just wasn't our time. So hold up your heads, cause you ain't got nothing to be ashamed of. I know that it's hard, but I'm right there with you. Now that I've taken up half of the bulletin board, I think I'm at a loss for words, so goodbye for now.

Thanks again to all,
Ike

As for the count of 23, there are selectees that you are not yet aware of who may or may not have even been at worldwide (e.g. - priors, separately auditioning contestants, etc.). There may also be additional selectees in the coming weeks to fill in any open spots as necessary.

Be patient...being anxious isn't going to make it go any faster.

If only you all knew how many boxes of Fig Newtons I have gotten since that article was posted (reference the second picture)... I'll be eating them the entire tour!!

My heart goes out to everyone who didn't get a call. You are all truly talented people and definitely deserve a seat on that bus. I am in awe of all of you and I hope that you all try again at WWTC 07! (Besides, then you can go as ""007"" and have a whole James Bond theme while you're there...) Ike pretty much summed it up, so reread his post if you need to...

But anyway, I just want to pass on my wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone had enough to eat on this wonderful Thanksgiving day! That will definitely be the last big meal that I eat since we all need to watch what we eat before staging starts! I would like to thank JDV (not Jay-Z) for making that post for me. Talk about a wild day! Getting the call while I was at Las Vegas Airport on the way to Pittsburgh, getting to Pittsburgh, noticing that my luggage was lost and just found out today that it is in DENVER, CO?!?!?!, and then getting hit with a wild snow storm on the drive from the airport to my hometown (usual drive 2 1/2 hrs - took over 5 on Tuesday night) So at this point, I am STILL waiting for my luggage!

I want to thank Mr. Edwards, Mr. Jones, and all members of the USASF Entertainment Staff for choosing me to be part of TIB 2006. I will not let you down! It is going to be an honor to be part of Mr. Edwards last tour with TIB.

To all priors, staff, Jay, Percy, JD, and everyone else involved with Team 4 and Beta Team, thank you! I definitely learned a lot from all of you in just the little time that we all had together!

As for me - I was not notified if I am going to be singing or the drummer. My commander did not inform me at this time on what I would be doing. I will be happy either way!

Errnnnnn - how much snow did you get up in NY??? I can tell how bad my blood thinned out! I am ready to get back to CA and 70 degree weather!

God Bless and please keep in touch with me!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Words cannot accurately express how thankful I am today. As I look back on my life, I think about the blessing that was Tops in Blue. For me it was much more than just touring. It was a life altering experience. And to think now that I will be forever connected to all my brothers and sisters in TIB, it makes me feel......well......honored. I love you all. Hopwfully everyone will have a wonderful day. And to all the new selectees..........get ready for the journey.

Corey

P.S. One more thing. New selectees: a little advice. START YOUR CARDIO workout the day after Thanksgiving. Cause your gonna need it.

Hey Blue
Congrats to all who have made it for next year's tour - looks like this is a particular Thanksgiving that will stand out in your mind forever! To all those who didn't make it, have faith and keep trying...many priors didn't make it their first time and perserverance says a lot about a person when Chief has a tough choice to make next year.
To all my Blue family, today I give thanks that this only child has such a huge and loving family that is just as wonderful as blood could ever be. Every year there's claw marks in the pavement at the airport where they have to drag me on the plane to make me go away after WWTC; its so wonderful to come down and see everyone then it hurts so bad to leave. Thank you Chief, for giving me my dream to tour in 95 then bringing me back again and again to turn wrenches, replace bulbs, blow stuff up, and generally act a fool for a couple of weeks with the rest of the crew. I love you ALL from the bottom of my heart...and thank you for loving me back.

Hello everyone!

I know, I know...I'm all late! :) This is my first opportunity to access the web and let me begin by saying ""Congratulations to all who have been selected for TIB 06!"" I actually read each entry and was filled with joy as I saw each selectee's story. I am flying back to Korea tomorrow and still have my fingers crossed...I know the 22nd is long gone, but it's ""ride or die"". I'll probably need to see the list that says who didn't make it before it will sink in. :) It's hard to not keep the faith and still hope for the best!

It was my pleasure meeting you all and I can't wait to see you again (Touring with TIB in 06 or WWTC 07)! Either way, I had a wonderful experience...you really do become family in that short period of time! Sniff sniff...:):)

Mr. Edwards, thank you for this wonderful opportunity! Nothing is worse than a dream unrealized...this experience solidified that I must persue my dream! You gave many people a once in a life time chance and now it's up to us to do something with it. Thank you and God bless you!

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL and once again, CONGRATULATIONS!

Go TEAM 2 !!!! (TJ, Geoffrey, Brian, Naomi, Chonte, and Rachel):)

Well as you can see the board is back up. I am sorry that it has been unavailable and especially at such an inopportune time. The web host decided to do some maintenance that ended up hosing the server and it took them apparently an entire day to get it back up. Hopefully that won't be happening again any time soon or I'll be moving to another host.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and many congrats to those who were selected.

Wow...I'M ON THE BUS!!! Okay, here's what happened:
So, yesterday I haD to do a retirement ceremony for Honorguard. When we were finshed, I checked my phone and noticed that I had missed a called and I had a voice message. I listend to it, and it was my flight commander. He said that the commander wanted to see me in his office at 1500, to hear me sing. He said that there was a shindig on Saturday, the National Anthem needed to be sang, but he's never heard me sing, and wanted to ""audtition"" me. So, at 1500 I went into the commander's office where he told me again about Saturday. He asked me to sing a part of the National Anthem, which I did. When I was finished, he stepped out from the desk and said... CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'VE MADE TOPS IN BLUE. Tears begin to stream down everyone's faces. I was so happy, I was speechless.
All, I can say is... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Mr. Edwards- Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. You will not be dissapointed.
Jay, Regina, and Percy- Thank you so much for your help. I could have never done this without you guys. You told me what I needed to work on... and I did it.
James Dill... Thank yo ufor telling me to keep my head up when I was feeling down. By the way... READINESS IS IN DA HOUSE!!!
To the people that I forgot to mention... trust me, I didn't forget about you...again THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
To the future 2006... I can't wait to see everyone!!! This year is gonna rock. WE HAVE TO STICK TOGETHER AND WORK HARD!!!
AND LASTLY... THIS MAKES HOW MANY... 6 FROM TEAM 2. I KNEW WE COULD DO IT!!!

Happy Thanksgiving all. To those of you selected for 2006, congrats! To 2005, see you in a month.

Jai - Bro, I cannot wait to see you and Ashley in January. I start working on my paperwork to get off penninsula next week.

J-Ballz - Haven't talked to you in a while.. how's it hanging?

Ed Jones - I was thinking about you the other day. We got some new airmen in the shop, straight from tech school, and they were complaining about miscellaneous things we do and how we do them. And my advice was to, ""just do it, 'Cuz that's what we do. Don't comlain about it, 'cuz you're gonna do it anyway"" And I remember we I came to TIB and was that kid that complained about everything, and you, Chief, Jerri, Barry, and the others helped knock that immaturity out of me, and make me the man I am today. THANK YOU ALL!

Chief, Jerri - ditto from above, I thought about you two as well. Although I said thank you above, I'd like to reiterate my thanks for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and making me the man I am today. Thank you again.

Barry, Jim, Lucky, Sandman - 'Tis a shame that I was unable to be at WW this year. I enjoyed working with, and getting to know you last year. Hopefully I will be able to get there next year.

Well first off let me send out a big congratsto everyone who made the team so far. I was suposed to be at WW06 this year but of course manning issues at my base prevented me from going. You can bet you WILL see me there next year!

Well, last5 friday the 2005 team came here to Langley and put on an awesome performance! Way to go guys. You all really came a long way from when I was working with you this past summer, and it was my pleasure to work with you all! It was also good to see some old faces again and I'm sure we will run into eachother again someday.

To all the staff still at the Production Center: I do miss you all and I will be there next year at WWTC. (I promise this time Libby)! LOL!

well, again thanks for bringing me down there this past summer to help get the team ready for the road and they do look great! Congrats again to all the 06 people whomade the team so far and do look forward seeing ya'll when you come here to Langley! So proud of you Jenna, can't wait to see you!

GOOD MORNING TIBEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Chris for getting us back up and running. It's a busy time of year for you and you are doing an excellent job managing our primary form of communication. We appreciate it!!!

For everyone else, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I'm just now slowing down since the beginning of WW. There are so many people I want to thank for making WW so successful this year. It's such an honor for me to come back each year and share my talents with the contestants. Every year has gotten better because I come back having grown just a little bit more than the year before. The same applies to those contestants who did not get selected this time. If TIB continues to be a primary goal of yours, consider this next year a time to grow in preparation for WW07. We never stop growing and there's always something about ourselves that can be a little bit better. No one can tell us how to do it. It's a personal challenge that requires passion, perserverance, and inner strength. DO YOU!!!

TIB 2005- you all are an active example of what I'm talking about. I've seen so much growth in so many of you. Thank you all so much for your professionalism not only at Andrews, but @ WW. I was even nervous since you had only been on the road for six months. But I'm so proud that you proved me wrong! Thank you for such great entertainment, thank you for working sooo hard, and thank you all for doing what you do and doing it so well!

BETA Team- There were many staff persons I talked to and they will vouch for me that I raved about how great your attitudes were. I just kept saying, ""this is just a great group of kids!"" (sorry for calling ya'll kids). Anyway, Just about every one of you took every suggestion that your team leaders made. I'm shocked at how receptive you all were, and also how well you all retained the information. You were motivated as well as supertalented. I truly believe that you all, including ALPHA, has made if difficult for Chief and his staff to select a team. He can't pick everyone but there's always another time. And THAT time may be YOUR time. I'm always an email or phone call away if anyone needs anything. I pray that your growth continues no matter what lies ahead. Keep working hard, and I hope our paths meet again.

Okay folks, This one's long enough. I'll get my shout outs on the next go-around. Be easy BlueLand!!!!

Blessed and Blue,
Regina

I think it is general protocol that you put something in ""Year(s)toured:"" when you have COMPLETED a tour.

The enthusiasm is great from the 2006 selectees posting here but to post ""Congrats to Team 2 with 6 riding the bus in 06"" is a little premature. You have to make it through staging to really ""ride on the bus"".

I currently have nothing to do with AFE but one may want to be mindful that all posts here are subject to be read and interpreted by people that are involved with AFE.

Do not take anything for granted and always maintain the attitude that ""I can make my best better"" and be grateful and publicly humble for what you are ""blessed"" with.

This is the best advice I could give anyone about to embark into staging and a TIB tour. Good luck to all.

This post is not meant to offend anyone or anyone's opinions.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody (I know I am late)
Anyway, Just sending out congratulations to those that have been selected so far, you have a long road a head of you. Those that don't get selected this time. Go home, do your homework, work a little harder, aquire some new skills, and work on improving yourself all around. It will only make you better in the long run, and hard work always gets noticed. Well, that's my two cents worth.
Saying hi to my friends from '03,'04,and '05, and the other priors that I have been so blessed to have come across. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Well, if your not busy shoot me an email. Ms. Sanders,

I have emailed you directly; however, did not know if you might see this posting better. This is the first time this week I have been able to read this board and I apologize for not having gotten back to you sooner.

We would love to see you in Charleston if you missed the show.

Maam-
The Tops in Blue show for Charleston Air Force Base is tomorrow night (November 26, 2005) at the N. Charleston Performing Arts Center (next to the Coliseum). The show is at 7:30 pm.

We always have a packed crowd (the facility holds over 2,000) and the event is open to the Charleston community..no tickets. But, should you decide that you wish to make the trip down for the show, I will make sure that you have a seat.

Please call me on my cellular 843-452-7794 if you are coming. Remind me about this email- my mind is full of details as I prepare for the event

I have to agree with Teiga... You're not Blue until you're through. No seat on the bus is ever guaranteed. I'm sure more than a couple folks out there can attest to that. All of you 2006 selectees need to realize that as of now, you've only really been selected to go to Staging. Nothing has been promised after that. Take whatever assignments the Agency gives you to work on until Staging and give it your all. Like Mr. Edwards said, the program owes you nothing. You are being provided an opportunity to do something extraordinary and it is your responsibility to live up to that everyday. Never let your guard down... you are under the microscope, in the fishbowl, or what have you from now until (Chief willing) you have that ring placed on your finger and you ""drink from the silver cup"". Being Tops In Blue is a 24/7 deal. Even as Priors, we have a responsibility to maintain the name.

I applaud all the enthusiasm of you '06 folks but I hope you channel it in the most constructive way! Bring that energy to Staging and have fun, but listen, learn and grow as well! This is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity... don't let your ego bring you down! I am envious of all of you and I wish you the best!

ERRRRRRRRNED IT!

Hello Blue (past, present, and FUTURE!),

Just thought I'd chime in here amidst all the celebrating and tear-wiping, and joy and celebration for those who made it (to the '06 bootcamp..LOL) and to give a few words of consoltation to those who were wishing, hoping, praying, and waiting with baited bredth etc. but have not been tapped for this years team.

Many good things have been said above by our prior family re: keeping the faith for those who did not make the cut this go round ie; keeping the faith and trying twice as hard next year and practice, practice, and more PRACTICE makes perfect! Ane remember what confucious said about success....""there can be no success without [proper] preparation!"" And how right he was. It is not enough to simply shed for hours upon hours if one is merely reinforcing bad habits etc. So those who made the cut and were fortunate enough (and talented enough) to make it to World-Wide, consider yourselves extremely fortunate to have been coached by some of the best the military has to offer in the way of musical instruction, and team mentoring etc. There is NO GROUP ANYWHERE in any other branch of the armed forces that even comes close to Tops In Blue! No bragging here yall! Truth be told! The 50 year history speaks for itself!

I would simply add to the wise, useful, and constructive comments of Blue brother Jai, Tiega, Sandman, JDV (not Jay-Z), Corey Sims, Blue sis Kellee Ryan, Cassondra ""CC"" Collins, ""Errrrrrn"" (LOL, for real!), et al. my other Blue brethren! They ERRRRRNED the ring, and now its your turn '06 to take your seat on the bus. But first, we must low crawl (through boot camp staging) before we learn to walk! LOL! Do not put the cart before the horse! or truck before the bus, as it were.....LOL! You must earn the moniker of TIB prior! The journey has only just begun! May the force be with you young blue Jedi! You have survived worlwide, now prepare you must, for what is ahead! Your chops you must hone, and your stamina you must build! Left home your egos shall be! And little rest you shall have! And after one full year of Blue Jedi performances for our troops here and abroad....the TIB ring you shall then have earned. But only then...and not before!

One last bit of Blue wiz-dom before I depart! I was reading my Fall issue of the Berklee College of Music Alumni Magazine, and there was a wonderfully insightful and estremely important quote contained therein by the world renowned studio bassist Abe Laboriel Sr. (whose son Abe I attended Berklee with) re: the field of music. He made this quote during the ceremony in which he received his honorary Doctorate (PhD) in Music along with Dr. Patrice Rushen and Dr. Steve Gadd (funk DRUMMER par excellance!!!! And this is basically what he had to say to the entire Berklee student body and audience, in a nutshell...:

""Music is NOT a competitive sport....it is a communal activity!"" (see link below for details!)

http://ejazznews.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=4871

I am mentioning this to my newest TIB selectees ('06), and to those who got very, VERY CLOSE.....just by virtue of even being selected to attend/participate in (or ""compete"" as it were) in the ""world-wide talent competition"", because I want all of you to understand that although you were all more or less ""competing"" for the honor of being a TIB team-member, the more important thing....INFINITELY MORE IMPORTANT THING.....is the experience you gained, the technical instruction you received, the coaching and mentoring Percy, Lorna, and Barry (and of course the Chief)were generous enough to impart on you all! Remember all the TEAMS you were broken up into! Remember how your individual teams bonded! THAT'S REALLY what its all about! Because that's exactly what TIB casts are all about....TEAMWORK, BONDING, SHARING, GROWING, MAKING LIFELONG FRIENDHIPS, OVERCOMING YOUR DIFFERENCES etc.!!!! And of course, above all...performing for OUR TROOPS. Those of you who did not quite make the final cut on the bus this year, GO BACK TO YOUR BASES AND FORM GROUPS (NEW TEAMS) and perform for your own troops at your bases, and BE A LEADER! That's the BEST
thing you can do to prepare for TIB and to show Mr. Edwards, and all the staff at AFE that you have what it takes and that you are a selfless person who wants to GIVE BACK to our Air Force, and not merely be a star or a celebrity! That's NOT what our program is about! Yes, we are treated like stars, but we priors know about humility, and we know that there is sooooooo much more to music, entertainment, and to Tops in Blue than merely basking in the spotlight! Just look at MSgt Byrd's behind-the-scenes contribution! No spotlight for the techs yall! Heck...they are too busy RUNNING THE SPOTS to have any time to bask! LOL! Go Byrd! Good for them! Always be mindful of our techies yall! Watch them closely all throughout your tours! They will teach you about humility, and about what TIB is all about! The TIB Blue machine is NOT only as strong as the sum of its individual parts! Nay......its the contribution of the WHOLE GROUP (TEAM) that is incalculable and inexplicable! But I tried my best to explain it! Learn for yourselves...now you must!

Gerry (AKA: Formerly Baby G...now Baby Yoda!)
'86, 'n '87os yall!

Well put Bro Tiega! Its meant to be constructive yall! Cause we LUUUUUVS ya! And we CARE about our heritage and the TIB name and rep! Our blood, sweat, and tears (and fears!). Peace!!! Yoda G out!

P.S.

To Blue Brother MSGT Tony G....I LOVE YOU BRO! AFE should be proud that you are representing so well on the Northeast Corridor! Truly a selfless leader and take charge organizer yall! The Thanksgiving dinner for the trrops was a BLAST! Not only because of the good food your maintenance top brass served us by hand.....but because we made the troops HAPPY and gave them some serious talent!!!!! And also because I was around THREE of my Blue family memebers from '04 and '83! Now I want to do it AGAIN for X-Mas with ALL FIVE of the priors at Mcguire! SIX OF US ROCKIN IT!!!!! That's the word yall! TIB is the mother of all gifts that keeps on givin' LOOOOOOONG after the final curtain of your individual tours! Its a life-long committment to our troops and our Air Force family! I LOVE IT! Just call me again ANYTIME Tony G or anyone else out ther in Blueland! If I can get there physically, I GOOD TO GO MENTALLY and MUSICALLY!!! Yall know!!!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Congrats to everyone who is going to staging, and good luck!

I was at a loss for words since getting home. I started writing on here a few times but can never seem to put down into words what i want to say. Then it came to me that each of us have gone through WW and so you all would understand where i'm comming from.

To WW 2006: You all rock!!!! I truely enjoyed sharing this with all of you. I wish we had more time to get to know one another. I wish each of you the best of luck in whatever your furture holds. you all have the potential to accomplish whatever your dreams hold.

To the staff: You have all gone through WW and i hope you understand the impact you have made on all of our lives. It was a blessing to work with you and i have never learned so much in such little time. The things you bring out of people is amazing, there is so much potental in people and you have given us the sight to see it for ourselves. From the bottom of my heart i thank you for everything you have done.

Greetings Blue family!

Just like to congratulate all slectees for 2006. You've earned. Remember this time right now and how happy everyone is because come ""staging"" you'll soon forget about what it took to get there and that anything worth having will take work and then some more and then so mo' and some mo', etc. When those days come where you wanna go home and are sore to your kness. (ask any vocalist; they know and will witness to you and if they don't , they ""fakin the funk"").

As Jamal said earlier we are here for you all. Start preparing now! Otherwise you will not be ready. Any quests. Holla @ me......well gotta show in a half hour so........""hey blue!"".........peace and mo' blessings

Tony G, I'll be joining the McGuire area priors pretty soon! I'm getting out of the Air Force in March, and I'll be moving back home to a suburb of Philly while I go to college. It's hard to believe 5 years has gone by so fast.

So make sure you guys keep me in the loop if there's any get togethers. Although I'm not sure if 3 TIB drummers in one place is a good thing or a bad thing, It'll still be fun!

Congrats to all the Worldwide contestants for givin' it up, and a bigger congrats to those selected to tour in 2006! If you were not selected, make sure you get back to worldwide next year and show them you're not giving up that easily!

Hope everyone is doing well. Take care,

- Matt

Keep up the good work 05.The talent you all have brought with you was evident and well received by the audience last night in Charleston,SC. Disappointed I could not see the show in my home town of Sumter,SC, the drive to Charleston was worth it. If I have to do it again then it shall be. Enjoy the remainder of your tour and make the best of wherever you are. This tour will last a lifetime in your hearts.Holidays are tough to be away from your family but most are a phone call away. The family you travel with now may never come together again so keep it tightly knit on tour. Happy Holidays and God Bless.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving, whether it was with family or friends, eating turkey or popcorn, watching football or movies... you get the idea :)

So I have a question for all the priors. Supposing we 2006 selectees make it through staging and stay on the bus for the year, is there a way we can get/guarantee tickets for our families who aren't military members/dependents? I'm the only military member in my family (non-married), and my parents/grandparents/aunts/uncles/you name it all want to go to the shows closest to them (Maxwell and Offutt AFBs). I'm not sure how those bases handle shows, but Kirtland hands out tickets on base and then has the show off base. Is there anyway they can get visitor or TIB family passes to get to the bases to see the shows?

A huge thanks goes to all the TIB priors (both who were at WWTC and weren't) who have offered their help/advice... it is appreciated more than you could possibly know. :) THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Happy Holiday season to everyone!!

Happy Holidays to you, Mimi! In 2003, we would let our Tour Director know about a month in advance what family/friends we had coming to specific shows. That info would get passed on somehow to the base POC's and ""TIB family"" seating was set aside. But that was a couple years ago and I don't know how it is handled now. As far as getting on the base, I know that at McGuire when my family came to see the show, the base was partially opened to the public so anyone could get on. Either issue shouldn't be a problem, just make sure your Tour leadership and/or the Agency know far enough in advance to secure the seating!

Good luck!

Congratulations to those who got selected! I'm sure that this will be a holiday season you'll never forget.

I'm sure the pearls of wisdom are being tossed at you from all directions and the advice from all priors will help you prepare. And here's another one. Although we as priors know what it takes to be TIB, and there are many stages that you must persevere through I do want to add that you are the first to have this much time between selection and reporting to staging. And although we say that you aren't TIB until you have a ring, we speak from a different perspective. I'm sure you remember that Mr. Edwards spoke of the glass bowl. You're life in the glass bowl has already started. From the moment you were notified from your chain of command, you are now seen as Tops in Blue by your family, friends, co-workers, and your chain of command. Please keep that in mind. Everything you say or do now will impact and carry the name of Tops in Blue. I hope that by witnessing TIB 2005, you have an idea of what that means. So, from putting your uniform on, getting to work on time, your work ethic, your professionalism, etc... how you do everything needs to be on a different level. It's not only the TIB way, it's the way you should live regardless of being selected. It's having pride and respect for yourself. It's being the best of the best.

Do us proud...

Libby

Yes, Tony I am now in Germany, specifically in Wiesbaden. Both the wife and I love it hear a lot better than our last assignment. I have been unlucky in getting a chance to see the 05 show, as for I was TDY most of the european tour. I have heard from a reliable source that ya'll showed the USO Salute at the Kurhaus a great time. I couldn't make WW this year due to training requirements. I already have it on the books to make it next year. So hopefully I'll be able to make it. It would figure that Doug is pulling boats all over Florida, I bet he's loving it. Send an E-mail I'd Like to hear from you.

To the Next Team coming up, Take JDV's advice and Start running, even with the new AF PT program, get ready. Oh yeah JDV Good luck with the Audio for another year!!!!!!!

Before this gets to long:
To all of 2002 and 2003, I miss you guys, oh yeah and 03 keep your jackets zipped up it's cold outside, before the bus driver tugs them down!!!!

I am proud of all of you, and it was a privilege to be able to work with many of you this past WorldWide. I look forward to seeing you on the road!
No matter if you made the team or not, please keep working to improve your talent, whether that is singing, dancing, playing an instrument, technical skills, etc. And don't ever give up your love of performing!

There are so many people I could thank again and again for another wonderful experience at WW: Chief, all you great folks in the agency, Percy, Jay, Gina, Mindy, the AFMDB, all the priors, old friends, and new...Thank you. It was a joy to see you, talk with you, spend time with you, learn from you. It was a blessing to be among family and to be a part of a truly great program I believe is a blessing for those watching the show, as well as those performing it.

Take care, everyone, and have a joyful holiday season!

Well once again, there have been issues with the server that is hosting this site. Apparently it was the same issue as before, but their fix didn't work. They have supposedly completely replaced the entire server, so the problem should be solved. You can rest assured that I have send several nasty grams (and I do write them very well, I promise) to the management and have threatened to move the site. I might still do that so the site might go down again briefly (a few hours), but I will do the courtesy of letting everyone know before that happens. Until then, enjoy the site as long as it works and the official list.

To THE HARDEST WORKING WOMAN IN SHOW BUSINESS

Ms. Jeri--the WW contestants don't know yet and us priors didn't know until we toured how hard you work. You deliver good news and bad like a true professional. You take care of us and you push us to do what we don't think we can (like tear down, move, set up, tear down, move, and set up again on the same day). You design and sew our sequins get ups and all that. You can spit anything there is to know about the program off the top of your head but you never toot your own horn. You do what it takes to "Make it Happen" and contrary to popular belief, you are not a robot. You are probably terribly under-thanked but don't think you're not appreciated. The Priors love you and we thank you for what you do and are for this program. You are the bluest!

P.S. That goes ditto for Honor
